Privacy Policy

Effective: 2 November 2026

Your privacy matters to us. At Navist, we work to a few principles:

  • We are thoughtful about the personal information we ask you for and the personal information we collect.
  • We protect the personal information we hold.
  • We aim to be open about how we collect, use and share personal information.

Who we are and what this policy covers

Navist Pty Ltd (ABN 49 641 419 114) is a technology consultancy based in Brisbane, Australia. In this policy, “Navist”, “we” and “us” mean Navist Pty Ltd.

This policy applies to personal information we collect when you:

  • visit our websites, navist.com.au and azimuth.navist.com.au;
  • contact us through a form on our websites, by email or by phone;
  • subscribe to our newsletter;
  • book a call with us.

It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to: to reply to you, to send you something you asked for, or to run and improve our websites. We collect it in three ways: when you give it to us, automatically when you use our websites, and from other sources.

Information you give us

  • Enquiries: when you use the contact form on navist.com.au, we collect your name, email address, phone number and your message.
  • Newsletter: when you subscribe on azimuth.navist.com.au, we collect your email address.
  • Communications with us: when you email or call us, we keep a copy of the email. Calls to our main line are connected by our phone provider, which records call details such as your phone number and the time and length of the call.
  • Bookings: when you book a call with us, we collect your name, email address, the time you chose and your answers to any booking questions.

We don’t need sensitive information, such as health information, to do our work. Please don’t include it in a form or email.

Information we collect automatically

  • Website analytics: we use Umami, an analytics tool we run on our own account, to count visits. It records the pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser, operating system, device type and approximate location. It does not use cookies. It also records when the contact form is submitted, but not what you wrote.
  • Spam and bot protection: our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser and may set a security cookie. These are needed for the form to work securely.
  • Website delivery: our websites are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and the details of each request in order to deliver the page to you.

Information from other sources

We don’t buy or receive personal information about you from other sources.

How and why we use information

We use information about you to:

  • Reply to you and work with you: answer your enquiry, arrange calls, and provide services you engage us for.
  • Send you what you asked for: our newsletter, until you unsubscribe.
  • Understand and improve our websites: through the analytics described above.
  • Protect our websites and you: stop spam and abuse, and keep our systems secure.
  • Meet our legal obligations.

We don’t sell your personal information.

Sharing information

We share information about you only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: businesses that provide services to us, such as hosting, email and analytics. They handle the information to provide their service to us. They are listed in the next section.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information in response to a court order, subpoena or other request from a government authority where the law requires it.
  • To protect rights, property and safety: we may disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights or property of Navist or others, or to prevent serious harm.
  • Business transfers: if Navist’s business is sold or merges with another business, personal information may be one of the assets transferred. This policy would continue to apply to it.
  • With your consent: we may share information when you ask us to or agree to it.
  • Aggregated or de-identified information: we may share information that can no longer reasonably be used to identify you, such as total visitor numbers.

We hold personal information electronically, in the services listed above.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. That includes keeping a record of our dealings with you, meeting our tax, accounting and other legal obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims, which can mean keeping records for many years.

If you unsubscribe from our newsletter, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so we don’t email you again.

  • Unsubscribe: every newsletter email has a link to unsubscribe, or you can ask us.
  • Cookies: you can set your browser to block or delete cookies. If you block the security cookie, the contact form may not work.

We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days, and we may need to confirm your identity first. It doesn’t cost anything to make a request.
